Privacy Policy

Pulse Hunter ("we", "the game") is a free-to-play web game, published at pulsehunter.net. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

What we collect

• Gameplay events — anonymized telemetry such as run start, run end, score, pilot selected, and game mode. No personal data is attached to these events.
• Optional nickname — if you submit a score to the daily leaderboard, the nickname you typed is saved with the score. This is the only direct identifier we ever store, and only if you choose to submit. You can play the entire game without ever submitting a nickname.
• Local progress — your run progress, settings, and unlocks are stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. We do not receive a copy of this data.
• Hashed IP for rate limiting — when you submit a leaderboard score, the server hashes your IP address to limit submission spam. The hash is not reversible to your IP and is discarded after the rate-limit window.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information.
• We do not run user accounts or require login.
• We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate and monetize the game:

• Vercel — hosts the game files. Vercel may collect basic access logs (IP, user agent) for operational and security purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare Workers — runs the leaderboard backend. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• PostHog — receives anonymized gameplay events. See PostHog's privacy policy.
• Google AdSense — serves ads in the game. AdSense uses cookies to personalize ads and measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads. See Google's privacy policy.

Cookies

We do not set our own cookies. Third-party services listed above (notably Google AdSense) may set cookies for advertising and analytics. The first time you load the game, a consent banner asks whether you want to allow advertising cookies. You can change your choice anytime by clearing your browser data.

Children

Pulse Hunter is not directed at children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not submit a leaderboard score. If a parent or guardian believes their child has submitted personal data, contact us using the address below and we will remove it.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to request access to or deletion of your data. Because we do not store accounts or contact information, the only data linkable to you is a leaderboard nickname (if you submitted one). To request removal, contact us at the address below with the nickname and the date you submitted.
